Plastic chair renovation

Why a page on the renovation ?

Following several requests for renovation , I wanted to create this section to store the different renovation project we realize that we will achieve in the future on the plastic chairs and rattan Rush plastic.

Chair Design Classic 50s

This is particularly the renovation of plastic chair rattan armchair Diabolo as you can see in my uncle Jacques Tati . 1958 film or furniture design and architecture are more advanced . Designed by the three friends of the ARP ; Workshop

Originally the chair was braided 3 son , it is divided into 3 zones or 3 tiers ( an area between each vertical rod which connects the low top circle circle).

The top part of the metal wire frame ; toured round in the middle and headed round the ground. On the upper and lower parts of the frame , the wire is 4 turns on the frame.

The metal round the medium is not connected to the rest of the armature .
The wire thus connects the bottom and top of the chair , passing well on the central ring , the ends of each wire braided ending on it and blocking on external descendants son (bottom) .
The main difficulty is the delicate positioning of the central ring. The positioning of the round during the weaving phase but also the management of the tension , so that once the wheelchair braided round does not shift .
